The Church has a mission of evangelization, so the Church should support people in living out this mission. The Good News(letter) was created to support just that for people in the Diocese of Davenport. Our efforts should be rooted in personal encounter, not cookie cutter or distant. This is a person-centered evangelization. We are going to support your efforts in 3 ways: story, action, and formation:
Story. Narratives from real life are inspiring. We will curate personal stories of evangelization so we can all learn from the wisdom born of other’s experience.
Formation. None of us can get where we are going alone. The Spirit forms us in the context of community, so we are making a space to journey together. Join us. We need you.
Action. Sometimes we just need ideas to get started. Some of what we share will be for individual use, while other stuff will be for groups or the wider community.
The Good News(letter) is created by the Office of Evangelization in the Diocese of Davenport. Please contact Patrick Schmadeke (schmadeke@davenportdiocese.org), Director of Evangelization, for questions, ideas, and conversation.

We want to keep in touch and support you with useful content, but we also don’t want to bombarde your inbox. We thought the best way to do this was to frame content with the liturgical year in mind. You can expect to hear from us seven times a year, just a few weeks in advance of each of the following seasons:
Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Baptism of the Lord
Winter Ordinary Time
Lent and Triduum
Easter Season, Ascension, and Pentecost
Early Summer Ordinary Time
Late Summer Ordinary Time
